Just married and need a place to honeymoon on Maui? Or maybe it's a big anniversary trip or time to renew those wedding vows. Either way, you need a proper hotel or resort to stay at on Maui. Here's a list, in no particular order, of great honeymoon friendly resorts on Maui, Hawaii. There's something for everyone here.
The Andaz Maui is the perfect place for couples looking to get away in style. This is luxury at its finest and very much a hotel that caters to couples. Located in the resort town of Wailea, you're close to world class beaches, restaurants, and shops but chances are good you won't want to leave this modern paradise. More at: Andaz Maui At Wailea
Unique and special in every way is how we sum up the Fairmont Kea Lani resort. It's luxurious, beautiful, and ready to welcome you. Forget regular old hotel rooms because even a normal room at the Fairmont is an 860 square foot suite. Not enough for you? Then book one of their two story villas with 2 or 3 bedrooms and your own small plunge pool. More at: Fairmont Kea Lani Maui
There's a certain elegance to the Four Seasons Maui. It's one of those places that just feels right, at least if "right" means beautiful, luxurious, and relaxing. Because that what this resort is. You can't help but feeling like you've arrived the moment you walk onto this wonderful property and you know you're going to be well taken care of here. More at: Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea
Looking to get a bit further away from the hustle and bustle of the big resort towns on Maui but still want to honeymoon in the lap of luxury? Then The Ritz Carlton might be for you. They're located just north of the busy Ka'anapali Resort area so you're only a short drive away from all that area has to offer but otherwise are in an area that's far less busy. Better still, you're within walking distance to Oneloa Beach (Ironwoods Beach) and the lovely D.T. Fleming Beach Park. More at: The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua
You may think of the Grand Wailea as a family resort with tons of kids running around, but hear me out on this one. Yes, this place will be packed full of families with children but it also caters to couples very nicely. Even the pool area has a dedicated "adults only" pool and hot tub that's completely separated from the madness of their amazing waterpark. Of course, when you've had your fill of playing adult you can jump in the fun pools and hit the waterslides and be a kid again. More at: Grand Wailea A Waldorf Astoria Resort
What was formerly the Hotel Hana is now the Travaasa Hotel Hana but rest assured that it's every bit as perfect now as it was back then. This is the place for those who really, really want to get away from it all. Why? Because it's located in the uber sleepy town of Hana on Maui's far east side. That means a fun drive along the famous Road To Hana. Travaasa is all about serenity, relaxation, and slowing down. There are few places that will get you on Island Time (see: Hawaii Living: Island Time) as well as Travaasa. Don't forget to check out Wai'anapanapa Black Sand Beach when you're over here too! I think the Paia Inn is off the radar of many honeymooners but give this trendy, boutique hotel a look. It's located in the sleepy, but very touristy, town of Paia on Maui's north shore. This isn't a resort area so things tend to be a bit slower up here. Tour the town's shops and restaurants, relax on the property, or walk to nearby Lower Paia Park or the excellent H.A. Baldwin Beach Park. More at: Paia Inn Hotel
Prefer B & B's to hotels and resorts? Then the Plantation Inn is right up your alley. They're Maui's (self-proclaimed) "premier bed and breakfast" and highly rated. They offer a total of 18 rooms in two buildings. 14 of those are regular guest rooms and 4 are suites. They even offer a secluded pool and hot tub. When you're ready to do some shopping or get a bite to eat you can just walk out the front door and be right in the heart of Lahaina town. More at: The Plantation Inn
