The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua is a high end, luxury resort located in west Maui. This area is known as Kapalua, though still technically the city of Lahaina, and is just steps away from D.T. Fleming Beach Park (to the right) and Oneloa Beach (Ironwoods Beach) (to the left).

Property Overview

It's a large and very upscale property that sit on 54 acres of land. The entire place just feels like a Ritz and those looking for luxury in this area are likely to be very pleased. It's large overall but with only 463 rooms (including suites, etc) it's not a mega resort and never has that over crowded feeling.

The pool area is very nice but, as you would expect, leans more towards the elegant side in terms of design rather than fun and playful. They do have a little playground area for young kids, as well as a keiki (kids) pool, but you won't find any slides or lazy rivers here. Not to worry, Ritz Kids will love it here and will really enjoy spending time at the Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ambassadors of the Environment.

This is an ideal location for those who want to be away from the hustle and bustle of the Ka'anapali Beach resorts but still want to be in this general part of the island.

A $35 per day resort fee (see Hotel & Resort Fees & Taxes) will give you amenities such as free pool towels, free internet access, and other such items. Yes, the ability to have things charged to your room is actually listed as a perk that is part of the daily resort fee.

If you're parking a car, The Ritz will charge you another $22per day to self park and $30 more per day to valet (not including the tip, see Tipping). So you're looking at $57 to $65 in daily fees (plus taxes) on top of your room rate, but this is The Ritz and if you're staying here you probably don't care about such fees anyhow!
