Lahaina, Hawaii

Lahaina is the most populated city on Maui's west side. It's name means "cruel sun" in Hawaiian and it perfectly describes the hot, sunny climate. This areas encompasses the Ka'anapali and Kapalua Resort areas. It was once the center of the whaling industry.

Front Street is now lined with shops and restaurants that attracts tourists. Banyan Tree Park showcases a very large Banyan tree that was planted by William Owen Smith on April 24, 1873 to mark the 50th anniversary of the arrival of Christian missionaries.

There is so much to do here like Dragon's Teeth, Lahaina Historic Trail, Old Lahaina Luau, and Segway Maui.

Some of the beaches you will find here are Ka'anapali Beach, Black Rock Beach (Pu'u Keka'a), and D.T. Fleming Beach Park.
