The Lanai Culture & Heritage Center is located right in the heart of Lanai City, just across from Dole Park, on the island of Lana'i. You'll get to learn a bit about Lanai's more ancient history as well as it's more recent history as a pineapple plantation and you'll get to see some artifacts from both periods.
The lady running the center is very nice and friendly and happy to talk about Lanai's history, answer questions, and share little factoids. She actually told us that the Pioneer Inn on Maui was originally built on Lana'i and then disassembled, shipped to Maui, and re-assembled. Who knew!
Admission is free and it's a self-guided tour. We highly suggest you stop by if you have any interest in learning a bit about Lanai's history.
They do have a little donation box so why not drop a few dollars in there to help them keep the operation going.
