Pioneer Inn - Hotels On Maui Lahaina, Hawaii

The Pioneer Inn hotel in Lahaina Maui is actually a Best Western property and is located in Lahaina town, just steps away from all of the action on Front Street. That means you'll have plenty of shopping and food choices and are in a great overall location.

The downside is that you are not on a beach here. You could always walk to the nearest beach down the street which is Kamehameha Iki Park, but that one isn't very good.

The hotel was built in 1901 but has been remodeled to "meet Best Western standards" for whatever that's worth. We did learn from our time at Lanai Culture & Heritage Center, that this building was actually originally built on Lana'i Island and moved to its current location on Maui.

The onsite Pioneer Inn Grill & Bar is a dining option that offers lovely ocean views and you are right next to the harbor where many tour boats and other activities launch from.

This is a smaller hotel with only thirty four non-smoking rooms, each with a lanai, but all are located on the second floor with access via a stairway.
