Protected from the open ocean by an offshore reef makes this great for snorkeling and swimming. There is not a lot of shade here.

Kiahuna Beach is another beach with multiple names. It's often called Sheraton Beach because the Sheraton Kauai Resort is located here and sometimes called Poipu Beach even though the real Poipu Beach Park is a bit east of here.
Guests staying at the Sheraton Kauai Resort or Koa Kea Hotel & Resort will be very pleased with this beach and the fact that it's just steps away from them at all times.
It's a great beach overall and gets pretty packed. It's a good family beach and a good place for beginner boogie boarders and even snorkeling. If you're looking to get away from people, this is not your beach.
