Wai'oli Beach Park, also known as Pine Trees for the ironwood trees that grow here, is located in the center of Hanalei Bay. It's an all around nice beach park with a lifeguard, bathrooms, showers, picnic tables, grills, a volleyball net, and large grassy areas.
Although this section of Hanalei Bay often isn't as crowded as Hanalei Pavilion Beach Park and Hanalei Beach Park (Black Pot Beach), which also share the same bay, this whole area can pack people in on busy days.
In the winter, it's a great place for more advanced surfers to catch a wave. If the waves aren't huge it can also be a good place for some beginner surfing.
If the ocean is on the calm side it can be a great beach to hang out or go for a swim but there can be dangerous rip currents here so check conditions and consult a lifeguard if you are unsure.
