Open air shopping mall. Over 90 stores and restaurants. Right on Ka'anapali Beach.
Whalers Village is an open air shopping mall located right in the middle of Ka'anapali Beach and has over 90 stores and restaurants. There is plenty of parking here and it's right on the Ka'anapali beach walk so it's an easy walk from the nearby Ka'anapali resorts.
It's a good place to do some shopping if you are staying in this area but it's hardly a destination all by itself. While there are some good and unique shops it's also full of a lot of fluff (Sunglass Hut, Oakley, Sephoria, and so on) and really isn't nearly as large as you might think.
On the flip side, there aren't tons of shopping malls like this on the west coast of Maui so it's nice that there is something here and having some extra restaurant options beyond the nearby hotels is also great.
It has three oceanfront restaurants which are Hula Grill Ka'anapali, Leilani's on the Beach, and Maui Fish & Pasta as well as a food court (Dragon Wall Express, Nikki's Pizza, Mr. Sub/Mr. Taco, & Subway).
There is also The Whale Center Of Hawaii, which is a museum covering Hawaii's whaling era, and they have activities including Hawaiian arts and crafts, free lei making classes, Polynesian hula shows, outdoor movie night, Maui Onion Festival and Sunset Jazz Night.
They offer a free shuttle service from your hotel to the village. Just check with your hotel concierge for schedules of pick-up times and location. If you are driving in you'll find a multilevel garage adjoining the Whaler's Village. With a minimum purchase, you get three hours of parking validated.
