Matt Anderson's Take
There are three Kamaole Beach Parks located in the city of Kihei in south Maui. Though they are very similar, this article is for Kamaole Beach Park III but we also have reviews for Kamaole Beach Park I and Kamaole Beach Park II (Iliiliholo Beach).

Kamaole III (or just Kam 3 as it's often called) is probably the most popular of the three Kama'ole beaches with locals. It's the smallest of the three but has the biggest grassy area and biggest parking lot as well. It's also popular with boogie boarders and there is a lifeguard here.

Smaller kids may like the swing set even if that thrill doesn't last long, but at least it gives them one extra thing to enjoy while here.

All beaches in Hawaii end up being busier on weekends when the locals come out to play, but that seems to be especially true here. Of the three Kamaole beaches, this is our favorite.

Kam 3 is a great all around south Maui beach. If you're staying in Kihei and can walk here this will be your goto beach for sure.

Great beach for families with young children!! It's within walking distance to where we stay so we really enjoy it!

This is one of my favorite beaches in Maui. We stay right on Kamaole beach II. But I love to walk down to Kam III. It is nice for swimming, boogie boarding or just laying out. We always see turtles by the lava rocks between Kam II and Kam III. Walk down to both ends at the lava rocks and look for coral and other sea treasures you will find some on a windy/wavy day. Also a great beach to watch the sunset and get that perfect photo.

Great family beach. Very crowded on weekends but still a lot of fun.

Kam 3 is an excellent beach and if you're staying at one of the nearby condos it's so convenient.

This is a good overall beach if you are staying at a nearby condo in Kihei. Not sure I would make a drive just for this beach or any of the other kam beaches but when I stay nearby and can walk here it's a great time.

This was a pretty good beach but also pretty packed with locals when we went. Overall we liked it a lot but it's not all that big, especially when busy.
