Very cozy and lodgey-feeling. A great and peaceful hotel with very well maintained landscaping throughout.

Matt Anderson's Take
NOTE: The Four Seasons Resort Lana'i, The Lodge at Koele is currently closed as it undergoes a renovation. It's expected to open in mid to later 2018.

The Lodge at Koele is a really nice hotel and one of only two large hotels on the entire island, the other being the Four Seasons Resort Lanai at Manele Bay which is a sister property and even offers shuttle service between the two hotels. That's handy if you want to visit a beach, which will really be Hulopo'e Bay Beach Park since it's the most accessible, because The Lodge at Koele is located in the middle of the island.

The Lodge very much has a lodgey-feeling to it with a bit of a plantation look. It's dark, has a lot of dark woods, it's fairly quiet, and has a lot of place to sit and contemplate the meaning of life. I found it very peaceful overall.

There are a few restaurants on site as well which are The Dining Room, Terrace, and The Bar.

There is one pool and hot tub here as well, but both are fairly small and nothing to get excited about. They'll get the job done but your kids won't be terribly pleased.

Speaking of kids, while they're certainly welcome here and you will see kids at this hotel it's not exactly filled with stuff for kids. In addition to the lackluster pool area, it just feels like it is geared a bit more for adults. The Four Seasons Resort Lanai at Manele Bay is a much better choice if you have kids where The Lodge at Koele is great if you prefer more peace and quiet and don't have kids.

Golfers can hit the links at the onsite The Experience at Koele Golf Course.

Overall though, it's really nice place to be and the staff here seem to be very friendly and helpful.

We spend Thanksgiving here when I was home sick for Virginia. It reminds me of some of the grand resort hotels in the mountains of Virginia. At the Lodge I watched a huge evergreen tree be decorated for Christmas with lights, ribbon and bulbs. The result was lovely.

The hotel serves a buffet style dinner with two seating. We dine in the bar-we had sliders and beer. Right in our price range. The lodge has two huge fireplaces that were roaring all day all. Very cozy during fall and winter.

I've only stayed here once but really enjoyed it. It has the same amazing service levels as the Manele Bay resort but a whole different vibe. It's more mountain lodge than beachy resort. There are areas here where you can sit on a porch and sip coffee. Walk along the lawn and feed the fish or play croquette. Just a slower pace of life in general. Very nice, very relaxing.
