Most people will drive right by this amazing beach and never even know it was here but it's definitely a hidden gem of a beach and one you should check out. You'll find it in the Waimanalo area on the east side of O'ahu.

Getting here is fairly easy, just get yourself to the southeast part of the island and onto the main road here which is the Kalanianaole Highway (72). If you are heading north along the coast, once you pass Sea Life Park Hawaii you have just under 1.5 miles to go and you'll see this beach park on the right where you can pull in.

There is a small parking lot here and you should be able to find a spot during the week but this place will pack in the locals on weekends so we suggest sticking to weekdays if you want to park.

There is a nice little grassy park area with picnic tables, a bathroom, and showers. The beach here is beautiful with great views of the offshore islets (Rabbit island on the left and Kaohikaipu Island State Seabird Sanctuary next to it on the right). The water is usually fairly calm here and well protected by the offshore reefs. Snorkeling can be good here but it may not be super clear.

If you head off to the right (southeast) along the beach you'll see what are now essentially man made pools, but used to be fishing ponds. While the main beach is usually calm, these pools are perfect for little kids since they are more protected from the open ocean.

If you walk to the far pool you will be standing in front of the setting of Robin Masters Estate (aka, Robin's Nest) from the TV show Magnum P.I. That's right Magnum fans, this is your Graceland. The first thing you'll notice is how small the property is. The second thing you'll notice is how bad the condition of it is. The third thing you'll notice is your mind wondering how you can acquire this property, fix it up, and play private detective.
