Full Description
Monkeypod Kitchen is a fun and casual restaurant located at the Ko Olina Resort on Oahu's west side. Foodies, beer lovers, and families will all find something to love here. The menu features hand tossed pizzas that are cooked in a kiawe wood burning oven, fresh island fish, burgers, steaks, and even homemade cream pies.

Beer lovers will enjoy sampling some of the thirty-six craft beers offered on tap and kept at a chilly twenty-nine degrees. If you want something a bit stronger then try some of their signature cocktails that are made with fresh and unique ingredients.

Monkeypod Kitchen prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible so you're not only getting the best and freshest food possible, but you're also helping support the local Hawaiian economy at the same time.

Reservations are accepted and often a good idea at peak times, but otherwise just walk in. Parking is free but fills up really fast in this area so if you're staying at a nearby hotel (Aulani A Disney Resort And Spa, Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina, Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club or The Beach Villas at Ko Olina) then you're better off walking here instead.

Wonderful food and service and just across the street from the Four Seasons so we ate here several time. They have good happy hour deals but even then this isn't a cheap place to eat.

We ate here several times. Great restaurant, great menu. Their Mai Tai's are the BEST anywhere. You have not had a great Mai Tai until you experience one of theirs. We also made sure we ate at Monkeypod in Kihei as they're ALL great. Within walking distance from the resorts.

The food here is great! One of my favorite's in the area. It's a little overpriced, but never a bad meal. The happy hour deals are pretty good. It's a great spot if you want to get out of the hotel area for a bit.

I'm a huge fan of Monkeypod Kitchen in the Ko Olina Resort. It's really good and really unique food and always delicious. They work with local farmers to get fresh ingredients which helps support the local community. All you need to know is that it means the food tastes that much better. This is one of those places that makes the air around it smell good and that aroma is enough to suck the customers right into it.

They offer what I would call a "fancy" and "upscale" take on foods ranging from pizza and sandwiches to pasta and noodle bowls. It's sort of an Iron Chef meets casual American food fused with other cultures type of place. Their pizzas are really good and their pork sandwich is unbelievably delicious. Their gnocchi is also a fan favorite and the garlic fries are the best we've ever had. They even found a way to make burgers better than usual.

We've never had anything but excellent service here and the servers always seem super happy and friendly. The outdoor lanai area is fairly large as well and will often have live music playing. Keep that music situation in mind because it will be loud outside!

Is there a downside to this place? Well, it's not cheap. You're in the Ko Olina Resort and you're going to pay for it. We sampled a bottle of some banana bread beer for $16 which seems insane to me. So a lunch or dinner for two is going to set you back $50-$60 for sure. Come for their happy hour specials and it's a much better deal. On the high end, appetizer and steak dinners for two adults with two alcoholic drinks each (during happy hour) can easily push you over the $120.00 ballpark before tip! While we can justify some of the high prices, we can't help but be annoyed by $4.00 sodas and $6-7 juices. Paying a higher price for better food is okay with us, but high priced sodas bother me since it's the same soda I can get for pennies at a store.

And another BIG problem: I've had to downgrade this restaurant from a 5 star rating for one big problem. The common house fly. That's right, the fly problem is so bad here that it impacts my experience in a very negative way. Sit outside. Sit inside. Doesn't matter. I will be swatting a fly or three my entire meal. Every. Single. Time. Been this way for months. Please Monkey Pod, figure out a discreet way to put fly traps out and deal with this horrendous problem you have.

So much to love at Monkeypod, but here are my favorites. The Blueberry Mojito for happy hour is my favorite cocktail for 8 bucks. The Caesar Salad is very good with freshly made dressing. I love the grass fed beef on the Big Island Cheeseburger. What makes it so good is the dijon aioli sauce combined with the sautéed onions, fontina, vine-ripened tomatoes, and butter lettuce, So ono.

We came here for Thanksgiving and ordered the turkey dinner special. I was so surprised at how good it was. Way better than gramma's house. The turkey was cooked perfectly - not dried out. The portions were large. I would gladly come back and order another turkey dinner, but I think they only do in on Thanksgiving.

Absolutely awesome service, friendly staff and fantastic food. Menu is a bit on the pricey side but the flavour does not disappoint. It is definitely on our list of must-go for the next time we visit Oahu.

Monkey Pod is the best restaurant in Ko Olina by far! Their Garlic fries with homemade ketchup and mustard are to die for! I love everything I have ever had there. Some of my favorites are the chicken wings, fish and chips, kale salad, and the strawberry cream pie. You will not be disappointed.
