Small protected bay. Can be good for snorkeling.
Waiohai Beach Park is separated from Poipu Beach Park by a tombolo (a sand bar connecting an island to the mainland or to another island). Waiohai Beach is on the west side of the tombolo and is a great overall beach, much like Poipu Beach Park next to it.
If you're staying at Marriott's Waiohai Beach Club, this beach will be steps away from you and a fun place to swim, relax, and hang out. All of the beach facilities (bathrooms, showers, etc) are over on the Poipu Beach Park side.
The east side of the beach here is slightly protected from the open ocean but if you have smaller kids head to the far east side of Poipu Beach Park instead.
If you aren't staying nearby, note that the parking can be really bad here so arrive early or try a weekday instead of a weekend. There are a lot of spots, but it does get crowded and they fill fast.
