Auntie Pasto's is located in a small strip mall (see our map pinpoint) and serves up Italian style food and pizzas for lunch and dinner.
I went for lunch and was surprised to find this place packing in a crowd right after 11:00 AM but I quickly found out why: Great food and great service with reasonable prices.
The restaurant is very casual (cement floors) and open. In fact, the openness does mean that it can get pretty loud in there at times. There was also an unusual low frequency hum that was annoyingly loud at times which we think might be the air conditioning unit. The good news is that my complaints end there.
The service here was shockingly good. Our waitress was super friendly and quick to bring out food, refills, and check on us a few times throughout our meal.
The food was already really good and their free bread and oil dip is a great way to start a meal. Sodas here are a reasonable $2.50.
For an appetizer I tried the fried mozzarella which is mozzarella cheese wrapped in a crepe and deep fried and then covered with red sauce. Not your average mozzarella stick by any means. It was unique and really good and plenty for two people to split for a reasonable $7.50.
For my meal, I ordered a small (12") pepperoni pizza which was a bargain at $11. When it arrived it was more like 14" in size and some of the thinnest crust pizza I've ever had (in a good way). It was also cooked very well, a bit more than most pizzas. Not sure if that's normal but I liked it because it meant the cheese was almost browned a bit. It wasn't the best pizza I've ever had but it was really delicious and I'll order it again for sure.
Bottom line: Auntie Pasto's was a very pleasant surprise and gives those even in the Kapolei area (see also Ko Olina Resort) a tasty, budget friendly, and family friendly Italian food option.
