Alohilani Resort at Waikiki Beach was formerly called The Pacific Beach Hotel and has undergone a massive $115 million renovation that brought about the new name which means "heavenly brightness" in Hawaiian.
The resort is located right on the main strip of Waikiki and is directly across from Kuhio Beach Park @ Waikiki which is right next to Waikiki Beach (Main / Center) so it has a great location in Waikiki. It's also surrounded by a plethora of food and shopping options and just a short walk to the Honolulu Zoo.
They also kept the really neat 280,000 gallon aquarium right inside the lobby (just walk in and you'll see it) at The Oceanarium restaurant which is worth checking out. You may even spot a mermaid swimming around at certain times.
