Great service, super friendly staff, delicious food, and prices that weren't too insane (all things considered).

Naupaka Terrace is located inside the JW Marriott Ihilani Resort and Spa at Ko'Olina. It's located near the main pool with open air indoor seating or outdoor seating that overlooks the pool and (sort of)Ko Olina Lagoon 1 (Kahola Lagoon).

They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a very casual setting. Breakfast offers a menu of the usual breakfast items as well as an all you can eat buffet. Lunch is more about sandwiches, burgers, seafood, and pasta dished. Dinner is all about steaks, seafood, and a salad bar. On Saturday, dinner turns into a seafood buffet.

We ate here to try out the breakfast buffet and were pleasantly surprised at what we found. First off, everyone from the hostess to the serving staff to the guy making the omelettes was super friendly. How often does the hostess stop you on the way out to ask what we thought of everything while actually seeming to care? Nice touch.

The buffet itself has a huge selection of foods. Everything from pancakes, waffles, and design your own omelettes to bacon, sausage, potatoes, and make your own fruit smoothies. On one hand, this is breakfast food and breakfast food is usually very binary. Meaning, it's either good or bad. Can the Ihilani eggs be any better than the eggs at a diner? Usually not.

On the other hand, the food was delicious. Waffles were cooked perfectly and ready for you to grab, same with the pancakes. Bacon was good but nothing special. Their sausage was some sort of (I believe) chicken sausage which should be banned from human consumption altogether. But everything else was quite tasty overall.

Other than the sausage issue we don't have many complaints here. The juices (orange, pineapple, and guava options) tasted fine but were a little on the warm side and had all settled in their dispenser so some attention could be paid there.

The servers here don't do a ton for a buffet service (in terms of serving you) but they constantly checked on us, refilled waters quickly, and got the bill taken care of quickly. All around top notch.

So it all comes down to the price which was $26.00 per person for the buffet (before tax and tip). Compare that to a $10 diner meal that would have tasted the same and filled me up just as much and it's not a great value. If you are staying at this hotel and want the convenience of the buffet then that $26.00 doesn't look so bad.
