Outstanding resort! All employees are respectful, knowledgeable, and happy to help. The Luau is incredible. The tower rooms are well maintained, all views are excellent. They have a very good buffet. The beach is quiet and only a few yards away from the hotel. First class tennis compound. On site gift / shack shop, ice cream / coffee bar just outside of lobby. Only a few minutes walk to the Whalers Village, a shopping and food court dream site on Kaanapali Beach. The town of Lahaina is a short drive, incredible shopping , art galleries, food of all types. This is a "can not miss" location.

This resort has a very nice setting for a beach wedding and photos. There is also a reception area for the after party in a cozy building. Often wedding coordinators will handle it all in Hawaii for a very reasonable price and/or will let you adapt as needed.

You may also do final touches in the hotel. This is a nice, calm beach for photos so be creative. Believe a beach wedding permit is required. Well worth checking out.

We stayed here for a few nights in November 2013, having stayed at their sister resort (Royal Kona) on the Big Island a few years prior. We were disappointed that their "Don the Beachcomber" restaurant was no longer open, but we were pleased with the other restaurants and amenities on site. We arrived late on Thanksgiving and it was nice to have a hot meal outdoors after 14 hours of travel. The local convenience store (I don't remember if it was an ABC) that was on the premises was very convenient!
