Matt Anderson's Take
Kapalua Bay Beach is a gorgeous beach in the Lahaina area of west Maui. It's easy to see why Kapalua Bay is so highly rated by locals and visitors alike. This is a classic Hawaiian beach in every way. Classic crescent shape? Check. Clear, blue waters? Check. Amazing views? Check. It's just an all around great beach.

For parking, drive along Lower Honoapiilani Road just south of the bay and you'll see a blue shoreline access sign right near the Sea House Restaurant where you can park. Just make sure you've followed all parking signs correctly so you're not in the wrong lot.

The water here is beautiful. It's often very clear, blue, and inviting. It's a great beach for swimming or just relaxing and enjoying the great views.

Snorkeling here can be good as well since the water is usually calm. The bay is protected by a coral reef and rock outcrops on both sides of the bay. As for facilities, there are nice bathrooms and showers here along with a beach walk but little shade.

A very nice beach to enjoy reading a book, splashing around, or watching a sunset. This whole area is magical.

This whole resort area is amazing and this beach is tops. Great place to watch a sunset if you're staying nearby too.

An amazing beach that's surrounded by other amazing beaches. This whole area is worth a visit. Enjoy the beach, grab some lunch nearby, and head back to the beach. It's too bad there is no shade here though.

We rented snorkel gear and the staff suggested Kapalua Bay Beach to snorkel. We were able to get underwater pics of turtles. It is a super place to snorkel. You can see so much sea life. It also has restrooms and is very clean.

This is a lovely beach surrounded by a condo community development. It is a protected crescent bay which is fantastic for swimming and taking a gentle dip in the water. If I lived in Kapalua, I'd jump in the ocean here everyday. Elegant and beautiful. You will mainly see snowbirds, tourists, and retirees in the area - not many locals. This is not the beach for the Hawaii adventurer. But, it's a relaxing bit of paradise in comfortable surroundings.

This ranked as one our Best Beaches on Maui because of it's beauty, usability, and access to amenities. If you are visiting the luxurious Kapalua area, this beach is not to be missed. If you can rent a condo in the area, even better.
