Papalaua Beach (which also goes by Papalaua State Wayside or Thousand Peaks) is located right off the Honoapiilani Highway, see map marker for exact location, in Lahaina.
Camping is allowed here with a permit, at least on the east side as the west side has a "no camping" sign. That's okay because the east side here has a much better sandy beach area while the east side has a man made sea wall in areas.
There is no parking lot here, but there is plenty of parking right along the road. Bathrooms are here in the form of a nasty port-a-potty only. There are no showers here.
Some areas of the ocean bottom are rocky but there are plenty of spots where you can access the water easily. It's not a bad beach, but certainly not one of the best you could find on Maui
