Maluaka Beach is an amazing beach and worth a trip to check out and enjoy. You'll find it in the Makena area of south Maui, right next to the Makena Beach & Golf Resort (Formerly Maui Prince Hotel). Getting here is easy but directions are a bit odd because of roads names.
This beach is pretty far south so most people will be coming here from the north. In that case, head down Makena Road and when you are getting close that road will curve inland a bit and when it does it becomes Makena Alanui Road.
It will then curve back towards the ocean and become Makena Road again. At that point where it goes from Makena Alanui Road to Makena Road is a T-intersection. At that intersection you need to turn right, which will take you north again and this will be plain old Makena Road again.
Drive north up this road and you'll see a blue beach parking sign on your sight near the end of it. If you hit the dead end circle just turn around and come back to the lot. Park, walk north (towards the dead end circle) and follow the path to the beach. Sounds way more complicated than it is. See our map / directions page for exact location and GPS directions.
This is a really excellent beach with lots of clear, blue water to play in and the powder sand beach is quite long and likely won't be crowded at all. It's just an all around great beach to hang out on and has bathrooms and showers.
