Tacos and More is located in a little strip mall style building in Waianae, very close to Pokai Bay Beach Park and is a surprisingly good Mexican option in the Waianae area.
The parking lot here is fairly small but there is some extra parking if you drive through the lot and into the back. From the outside, it looks like a small hole in the wall but once you go in it's pretty huge inside since it is actually four or so separate dining rooms so it can hold plenty of people.
You'll have the option to use the quick serve counter for takeout or you can asked to be seated for table service. It seems to very much be a mom and pop type of place and they are very friendly and make you feel very welcome.
Sometimes these places can be a little sketchy in terms of cleanliness but we were surprised at how clean it actually was inside. At one point during our meal I dropped some food bits on the table but before they brought dessert out they actually scooped up my mess so we'd have a clean table for round two. It was a nice touch.
On to the food! We tried the special of the day which were the Durango Tacos which you may know better as "street tacos". Tender chunks of carne asada, onion, and cilantro in a soft corn shell. Delicious. I've been back many times for these.
The tacos came with a side of rice and beans which were just average and sort of bland tasting but some hot sauce helped that. The chips are good and the salsa is good but more of a chunky pico de gallo than an actual salsa. Soda was reasonable at $2.25 but refills are $0.75 which is kind of annoying.
Other items I like include the chimichangas, carne asad tacos (with pico, guac, etc), and the tortilla soup. It's chicken tortilla soup but tastes like a beef broth. Different and delicious.
Side note, if you like extra spiciness in your food then ask for the super hot sauce called "macha" and get it on the side. It's a sort of sticky dark reddish-brown paste but it's super tasty and super spicey! On my last visit they didn't have any macha but the chef made another spicey sauce for me which was really nice and also really delicious.
We also ordered their churros and ice cream dessert and, while most of it was very good, a few of the churros were super hard in the middle. Either old or bad or not cooked, but just not good. We were too stuffed to bother with it.
Service was excellent and friendly so that combined with very excellent food (in most cases) means we'll be back soon for sure and highly recommend you try it too! It's a great authentic Mexican restaurant for those in the Ko'Olina resort area as well since it's only a 15-20 minute drive up the Farrington Highway and far better than Just Tacos.
