This is a Jack Nicklaus designed, par 72, 18 hole golf course in the Manele Bay area. It opened on Christmas Day in 1993 and has some of the most spectacular views you'll ever find on a golf course.

This is a Jack Nicklaus designed, par 72, 18 hole golf course located right next to the Four Seasons Resort Lanai at Manele Bay. It opened on Christmas Day in 1993 and has some of the most spectacular views you'll ever find on a golf course.
It's actually built on lava outcroppings and three of the holes are right on cliffs that drop about 150 feet straight down the ocean waves crashing on the rocks. That means the ocean is quite literally your water hazard on those holes! During winter months you can even do some whale watching all along the course. Beautiful stuff to see and that makes it easy to forget that you came here to golf.
It's so nice that you may have heard the story about Microsoft co-founder and billionaire Bill Gates who basically bought out a hotel and golf course so he could get married. Well, this is that course he got married on (12th tee to be exact) and it's easy to see why.
If you're staying on Lana'i and are a golf fan then you'll certainly want to check this one out.
