Holiday Inn Express Honolulu-Waikiki

The Holiday Inn Express Honolulu-Waikiki used to be the Maile Sky Court. It's the same building but has been completely renovated while still being a budget friendly hotel. Perfect for those looking to do some Hawaii Vacationing On A Budget.

The Holiday Inn Express Honolulu-Waikiki offers 596 rooms with 8 suites. This is a 44 story hotel with views of the ocean, Waikiki skyline, and Koolau Mountains. Guests who plan to access the Hawaii Convention Center can do so via car, bus, or a 1/2 mile walk.

Rooms include free WiFi internet access, 49" HDTVs with premium cable, microwaves, mini-refrigerators, coffee makers with coffee and tea, heating and air conditioning, and hair dryers.

There are no lanais (balconies) but because this is an older building that was renovated, the windows do slide open. On that note, since this is an older building the rooms may be on the small side to some guests.

The hotel does charge a $20 resort fee (see Hotel & Resort Fees & Taxes) which covers the recreation activities, free wifi in your room, Nintendo Wii consoles in rooms, a fitness center, business center, as well as hula and yoga classes. That same fee also includes "unlimited filtered water in the lobby" which is certain one way to stretch the "features" bullet points!

If you have a rental car, expect to pay around $27 per night to park at the hotel.

Pool & Recreation

This recreation area features a small swimming pool and hot tub, a 9 hole mini golf course, shuffleboard, ping pong and pool tables, foosball, and a giant chess game.

Beach

The Holiday Inn Express Honolulu-Waikiki is located in the general Waikiki area but is not a beachfront hotel. It's located on Kuhio Avenue but towards the north (and west) corner of Waikiki so it's a bit of a walk to the nearest section of beach. If you do walk plan on close to 1/2 of a mile which will drop you off right on Fort DeRussy Beach Park @ Waikiki.
