Keomoku Village was an old plantation town on Kauai's east coast. Back in the 1890's, the The Maunalei Sugar Company began growing sugar cane in this area but failed in their attempts. By the early twentieth century, this area became a sheep and cattle range but that all ended by 1954.
Today, Keomoku is just a ghost town with Ka Lanakila O Ka Malamalama Church (and abandoned church) being it's most popular tourist draw.
