Matt Anderson's Take
The Friday Night Fireworks In Waikiki is a free, weekly fireworks display that takes place at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort but can be viewed from many areas around the Hilton and Waikiki.

The show generally starts around 7:45 PM and runs for around 10 minutes. It can be viewed from all over the area, even Ala Moana Beach & State Recreation Area the Ala Moana Center parking lot. Of course, being closer to the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort is your best bet for ultimate views.

If you happen to be in Waikiki for the fireworks it's fun to watch the show which can be seen from all over. It's a short show so not something you'd drive in to see.

We made a late evening of seeing the Friday Night Fireworks in Waikiki. We watched them from Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort where we had friends staying and can honestly say it was so enjoyable to watch the fireworks with such an open sky on a beautiful island. They did not last for long but we came earlier and stayed later so stretched the time out. It does get crowded but not so much that you can enjoy the show.

Friday night fireworks are a must see while in Waikiki! When I come to Hawaii twice a year I have a condo at the Ilikai so I watch it off my lani every Friday night with a glass of wine. I just love it. They set them off at the lagoon just behind Ilikai and Hilton Hawaiian village. There is plenty of space to sit or stand just go a little earlier to get a place. Normally they start when it's dark around 7:45. Well worth seeing!

This is a must see. This is a free show which is put on by the Hilton hawaiian Village for free. Grab some pizza and head down early to the beach, enjoy the sunset, have a swim whilst you want. These shows should not be missed. We timelapse it every time and can't wait to be able to sit on the beach and enjoy it again!

Awesome firework show that can be seen EVERY friday night! I recommend going to the Hilton Hawaiian Village and watching them from the upstairs restaurant (sorry... I forget the name). But the views are amazing. It's also fun to watch on one of the dinner boats. But they are a great show and can be seen from pretty much anywhere in Waikiki.

Something for free in Waikiki? Yes, please! It's a good show though not very long. You can view it from so many places so if you're in the area just look towards the Hilton at the far end (opposite the zoo end) and enjoy a the free show.
