The Kalauao Falls Loop Trail, which is also sometimes called the Aiea Loop Falls Hike, is a 4.2 mile long loop trail in the Keaiwa Heiau State Recreation Area which is in Aiea on the island of O'ahu.

Don't confuse the Kalauao Falls Loop Trail with the far more popular Aiea Loop Trail as both are in the same area and share the same trailhead.

The Kalauao Falls Loop Trail is a lessor known trail, that makes its own loop, and takes you down into the Kalauao Valley and to the Kalauao Falls waterfall.

The trail is often considered to be a moderate to difficult hike with elevation changes around 1,000 feet overall. The Aiea Loop Trail is considered to be a much easier hike by comparison.

The trail is usually marked with ribbons and pink bottle caps but it can get confusing in some areas so watch where you are going and be sure to stay on the trail. If it has rained recently you can expect a slippery and muddy hike and may want to skip this in that case. Since we're talking safety, be sure to also read Hiking Safety & Essentials before heading out.

If it has rained in the last few days the falls can be pretty amazing so bring a camera on this one. Eventually, the trail will connect back to the Aiea Loop Trail and bring you back to the start.
