Full Description
Nanakuli Beach Park is located along the Waianae Coast on the west side of O'ahu. It's also now called Kalaniana'ole Beach Park which was actually it's original name, but most people will still just call it Nanakuli Beach. This area includes both a beach and a community park area and is very popular with locals, especially on weekends. If you're staying at the Ko Olina Resort, it's just a short drive west.

Nanakuli Beach is pretty small but the overall park area is fairly large and includes basketball courts and a baseball field. There is also a small playground area with some climbing equipment for kids. There is plenty of grassy areas for a party or picnic and you can even camp here with a permit.

On weekends this place will be packed, so avoid it then, but during the week it is rarely too busy. You might find some high surf and strong currents, especially in the winter months, so be sure to check with a lifeguard if you aren't sure of the conditions. Nanakuli Beach Park has full facilities as well.

This beach is also close to the very popular Mermaid Cave / Tunnels, which is neat to see but not a place we recommend going into.

Lovely beach! Perfect for family and friends get together. Love the vendors that are out there on weekends Saturday. They sale the best VAIFALA that’s perfect for a beach day. Awesome beach park.

Nanakuli Beach Park is probably a little underrated but it's actually a nice beach. I could see stopping here during the week when it's not so busy but on weekends you can do so much better and avoid some crowds.

This beach is popular with locals on the west side. It's a good place canoe paddling. Good snorkeling and SCUBA diving as well.

Good beach on a weekday. The 8-10 window, at least during my visit, yielded very few visitors, other than locals enjoying a family picnic, some good music, and a few adult beverages. A day at the park with crystal blue water on one side, and rocky green peaks in the background. Rare Monk Seal on the beach was an added bonus. Tread lightly and don't tell the big man presiding over the picnic to turn down the reggae.

Nanakuli Beach is a wonderful place to bring the family to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. I went on a Thursday and the beach was nearly empty. Overall, a great place!

So close to home so we're always here. Great for a party or picnic with plenty for the little ones to play on. It does get really packed on weekends, though.
