Nanakuli Beach Park Nanakuli Community Park Kalanianaole Beach Park

Nanakuli Beach Park is located along the Waianae Coast on the west side of O'ahu. It's also now called Kalaniana'ole Beach Park which was actually it's original name, but most people will still just call it Nanakuli Beach. This area includes both a beach and a community park area and is very popular with locals, especially on weekends. If you're staying at the Ko Olina Resort, it's just a short drive west.

Nanakuli Beach is pretty small but the overall park area is fairly large and includes basketball courts and a baseball field. There is also a small playground area with some climbing equipment for kids. There is plenty of grassy areas for a party or picnic and you can even camp here with a permit.

On weekends this place will be packed, so avoid it then, but during the week it is rarely too busy. You might find some high surf and strong currents, especially in the winter months, so be sure to check with a lifeguard if you aren't sure of the conditions. Nanakuli Beach Park has full facilities as well.

This beach is also close to the very popular Mermaid Cave / Tunnels, which is neat to see but not a place we recommend going into.
