Matt Anderson's Take
Valley of the Temples Memorial Park is a memorial cemetery but also a popular spot for tourists.

At the far end is the Byodo-In Temple which a very popular tourist destination on O'ahu. The area has been featured in many Popular Movies & TV Shows Filmed In Hawaii over the years as well, including the popular LOST television series.

This memorial park is lovely with different sections dedicated to the various ethnic groups. There are areas with graves for Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and other groups. Asians that live in Hawaii are very reverent to their deceased and often have small family gatherings and set up chairs and tents around a loved ones grave.

If you're looking for the ultimate eternal place of rest, this is the kind of place that is hard to top.

This is one oddly peaceful places that you can probably only understand and appreciate in person. First and foremost, it's a cemetery so this isn't a "bring the kids and have fun" kind of place, though bringing them to the nearby Byodo-In Temple is just fine as long as they understand that they need to be quiet and respectful. I don't think a cemetery is high on the to-do list for most people so it's hard to recommend this place as a "must see activity" but it sure is interesting to see.

Really amazing spot to drive around and see the different spots. Also fun to feed the fish with little ones.

The Valley of the Temples Memorial Park is by far one of the most beautiful Cemeteries in all of Hawaii. The Byodo-In Temple is located here and is a must see for those visiting the islands. The grounds here are maintained very well, and as you walk through there is a feeling of peace and tranquility. The staff is very respectful to those who have loved ones there, and helpful to tourists who just want information. This truly is a one of a kind beauty.

A very beautiful and serene place to visit. The grounds are beautifully kept along with the ponds. I would certainly return as we did not see the peacocks.

This is a great way to spend a part of your day. Bring cash, they do not accept credit cards but it's only about three dollars per person to go and explore this beautiful area. There is a small picnic area behind the gift shop if you want to have lunch there and bring a couple dollars to buy fish food to feed the fish and the birds. If you hold still long enough the birds will actually come and eat out of your hands. There's beautiful black swans and a unique rooster also.
