Pauoa Bay is located right behind The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii. This is a small bay that is protected by a natural sea wall and home to one of the healthiest coral reefs due to the efforts of University of Hawaii.

The crescent shaped bay is perfect for swimming and snorkeling due it's usually calm waters. You might even spot a Honu - The Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle, a variety of reef fish as well as eels and other marine life. In the winter time, you might even catch a glimpse of whales offshore here.

As for beach access and parking, the closest option is at The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii but you'll pay to park there. If you want free parking you'll be parking a good distance away and walking in. In that case, park over at the free lot for the Malama Petroglyph Trail / Puako Petroglyph Preserve which can hold a couple of dozen cars. From there you'll follow a path along the shore to Pauao Bay Beach as it works its way through The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii property.
