Ricado’s Italian Restaurant is located in a strip mall directly across the street from Pearlridge Center, see our map pin point for exact location. Don't let the outside of this strip mall setting turn you off as the inside of this restaurant is far nicer than it's store front would suggest.

Although this could be considered a kid friendly place (they do have a keiki menu) I would say that it's better for couples or families with kids who aren't too young. Those with younger kids may be better at Bravo Restaurant which is across the street, though more generic / bland (Americanized) as well.

Ricardo's is an odd place and I didn't have high hopes even after reading many positive reviews. I was very pleased to find that the service was excellent, the restaurant is very clean inside, and the overall ambiance is pretty decent even if it is a little plain and boring.

Our waiter was very good at taking our order, bringing food out quickly (almost too quickly), giving us bread and refills, and so on. All around top notch service here.

I started with their fried mozzarella appetizer which was good, though not excellent. The breading on the cheese was tasty though the cheese itself was a little bland and overall a tiny bit greasy. Still good though.

For my entree I tried the lasagna. I figure this is a good way to get a baseline reading on an Italian restaurant because if they can't do this well then all hope is lost for the other items. Luckily, the lasagna was very good and it was enormous (two meals worth). It's not the best I've ever had and had moments of some blandness but overall I enjoyed it. For the size, it's a decent value at $14.50 (one of the more expensive pasta items on the menu), and you could easily split it between two people.

The tiramisu for dessert was excellent, just perfect all around and a great value at $4.50 for a decent slice.

Other than wishing the food had just a bit more flavor at times I don't have many bad things to report. The water is right from the tap so not something I'd drink, though the iced tea was fine. Sodas are cheap at $1.75 but they don't include any refills which I really hate. Bottom line, good food, great service, fair prices, and so I'll be back.
