Marble Slab Creamery is located in the Queens' MarketPlace shopping mall in the Waikoloa resort area so that makes it quite convenient if you want to get a decent price on dessert outside of your hotel in this area.
They offer several (but not a ton really) flavors of ice cream and will then "mix in" whatever candies you want. You can get marshmallows, cookie bits, candy bar bits, gummy bears, and so on mixed in. It's all done by hand on a freezing cold, you guessed it, marble slab. It's done in a way as if there is some sort of production quality show going on, which there isn't.
The upsides are that it's ice cream and thus tasty, because pretty much all (normal) ice cream is tasty. The downside is that it's a little on the pricey side at $4.00 for the smallest cup of ice cream (it's a huge scoop to be fair) but then another $1.00 for the one mix in you select. $1.00 for a few gummy bears? It won't break the bank but feels like they should just toss that in as part of the $4.00 deal. We did get a 10% off Kama'aina rate though so I guess we shouldn't complain.
Overall we enjoyed it!
