The Yummy Korean B-B-Q chain has been around since 1987. They serve most of the traditional Korean food, and you'll often see locals ordering bulgogi with white rice (on the menu they call it bbq beef) and kimchi. They are reasonably priced and located throughout Hawaii. It's a good introductory place for tourists who want to step into the flavorful world of Korean food.
You'll order an entree and get a choice of 4 side dishes out of 15 or so. The sides are all pretty good and authentic for fast food. The meat jun is pan fried in flour and oil. It's popular with locals. There are 2 different kinds of kimchee - cabbage and cucumber - to choose from as well as other traditional Korean side dishes.
The price is on the high side for take out food (around $10 to $15), but they do serve large portions and it's convenient, fast and authentic.
