A small beach in the center of a large cove in Haula Bay.
Features
Ha'ula Beach is pretty tough to get to and requires a rough drive and then a 20 minute hike. If you have the means to get here (4x4), you'll need to take Poipu Road and head east passed the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa. Keep driving and the road will turn to dirt. After 1.5 miles you'll come to a 4 way intersection and you'll need to turn right here.
Go down another 3/4 of a mile, stay to the ride when the road forks. The road will turn left, follow it for another 1/4 mile and park. You're now at Kawailoa Bay. From here you'll follow a path around 3/4 of a mile along the coast line heading east and north which will land you at Ha'ula Beach.
Behind the beach are the highest sand dunes on the south shore. The rocky offshore bottom makes this beach bad for swimming but chances are good you'll have the beach to yourself.
