South Aliomanu Beach, which is separate from nearby North Aliomanu Beach, is a popular place with locals who fish (net and pole) and it can get very busy on weekends. It's a long stretch of sand and a nice beach but most areas won't be very good for swimming.
Even during the week you'll likely find locals here fishing and doing some octopus hunting. There is a section that does allow for swimming in the shallow lagoon as well.
The parking isn't very good here with only a small dirt lot (marked on our map / directions page) and a few other areas to pull off and park roadside. On weekends it may be very difficult to park here.
Towards the northern end of the beach has a really neat stream that empties into the ocean. If that stream is flowing heavily it could lead to murky water which isn't recommended for swimming as sharks enjoy murky waters (see Shark Attacks In Hawaii). But most of the time it's a small stream and relatively clear water.
