Full Description
If you like butter broiled shrimp smothered with garlic, then you'll have a fiesta in Kahuku. Kahuku is known for their shrimp farms, and having several different Kahuku shrimp trucks and restaurants. Giovanni's is recognizable for their truck that is covered with graffiti.

So here's the lowdown - for $13 you get 12 shrimps and 2 scoops of rice. The shrimp can be prepared scampi style or simply with butter. The shrimp are served with the shell, so you'll get messy de-shelling these cooked creatures.

The chickens keep you company while eating at a picnic table. Good shrimp. Also, the souvenir tent nearby makes for fun shopping on the North Shore. Don't know if the two are connected or separate businesses. Fun experience.

Their truck actually looks kind of skanky, I only hope that they keep their kitchen cleaner than the facade of their lunch truck. Our plate was served a bit heavy on the oil, and the garlic was not crispy the way I like it. Giovanni's has a reputation for being one of the best Shrimp trucks on the Island, but I would recommend heading up the road a little bit to Romy's Kahuku Prawns & Shrimp Inc..

My favorite shrimp truck on north shore... Maybe that's because it's so close to home for me, but it's pretty delicious. The garlic shrimp are always awesome and they give you plenty! I like to order the garlic but ask for the hot sauce on the side... It's like eating both spicy and garlic shrimp. And ask them to put some of the garlic sauce on your rice. So ono!!!

We decided to stop and eat at Giovanni's Shrimp Truck while driving by. There was a long line that seemed to take forever. The service was friendly. The shrimp was good, but not as garlicky as I thought it should be. It was a Sunday evening and the place was packed! So if you want a short wait to order and eat your food don't go on a weekend.

Feels like this is a must when you visit the north shore. Also feels very touristy, yet worth it. For me it's the spicy shrimp all the way. Easily the way to go here. So lovely. It's a little pricey, think I paid $13 or so for a plate. Guess this is what you get when you're in Hawaii and in a touristy area. Will it stop be from coming back? Nope.
