Royal Kona Resort - Hotels On Big Island Kailua-Kona, Hawaii

At 390 square feet, the recently remodeled guest rooms at Royal Kona Resort offer views of the ocean and mountain skylines. At the heart of the resort is the Alii Tower, which is home to the open-air lobby, front desk, and Don the Beachcomber restaurant. The Lagoon Tower, on the South side of the resort, overlooks the private beach and saltwater lagoon. It also houses a beauty salon and self-service laundry. To the North, closest to Kailua Kona, is the Bay Tower in which the massage and spa center can be found.

Resort feaures include an oceanfront luau, Don the Beachcomber Restaurant, activities desk, Don's Mai Tai Bar, fitness center, daily maid service, massage and spa center, self-service coin-operated laundry, hair salon, oceanfront swimming pool, shops, WIFI access ($9.95 daily/$39.95 weekly), wedding services and coordinators, four lighted tennis courts, meeting facilities and planners and Tennis Pro Shop and instruction.

Rooms
This Hawaii Resort's Guest Rooms feature a large lanai with mountain vistas or ocean views. Located throughout the Resort's three towers, guest rooms can accommodate up to four guests including children, with one king or two double beds. Guests can choose from: Standard, Partial Ocean, Ocean and Ocean Front Views.

Oceanfront Corner King rooms offer full panoramic ocean views. Located on the front corners of our three towers these rooms feature a wraparound lanai with sliding glass doors on the front and side of the room. The bedding in the corner king rooms is one king. These rooms will accommodate a maximum of four guests including children.

Suite accommodations are perfect for guests who need a little more space. Maximum occupancy in the suites is four guests including adults and children. Located in the Alii Tower, the Kailua Bay Junior Suites offer views of Kailua Bay. These suites have an open floor plan with a bedroom and living area. Bedding is one king bed.

With dramatic ocean front views, Royal Ocean Junior Suites feature oversized bedrooms with comfortable sitting areas and wraparound lanais. These suites offer one king bed and a sofa bed.

Amenities for accommodations include air conditioning, bathtub/shower, private lanai, color television with remote in Bay Tower, 32" Flat-screen TV in Alii & Lagoon Towers, upgraded TV and movie channels including Japanese and Chinese, in-room movies (charge), alarm clock with AM/FM radio, digital telephone, voice mail service, mini refrigerator, in-room electronic safe, in-room coffee service (charge), hair dryer, iron and ironing board, daily maid service, crib (on request) and roll away bed (charge). There are also connecting rooms available on request.

On-site Dining
Don the Beachcomber Restaurant is set right on the water's edge with ocean and sunset views from every seat. They offer a Polynesian retro-tiki chic atmosphere with award-winning cuisine and original Mai Tais.

Don's Mai Tai Bar is the largest open-air, oceanfront bar in Kailua-Kona – and offers a dramatic setting against the backdrop of Kailua Bay. Patrons can select from over 10 types of Mai Tais, 14 draft beers including local hand-crafted micro brews and international favorites, a variety of Hawaiian specialty drinks including unique rum concoctions featuring Sammy Hagar’s Beach Bar Rum, and complete cocktail service in Kona's most spectacular location. Lunch and appetizers are served daily with 360° views of the Pacific Ocean and Kailua Bay. The bar also features HD televisions that broadcast current sporting events and scheduled live entertainment.

There is also the Royal Kona Resort's Lava Legends & Legacies - Journeys of the South Pacific Luau, which offers tropical delicacies and entertainment. Presented by the award-winning Tihati Productions, the Luau features Aloha Shell Lei Welcoming with photo opportunities; open bar with standard cocktails, mai tais, beer, wine, soda and fruit punch; traditional imu (underground oven) presentation; an All-You-Can-Eat Hawaiian Luau Buffet with traditional island fare and delicacies; and various entertainment, including a fire dance finale.

Spa Services
The Massage & Spa Center offers a wide array of spa options designed to pamper guests. Featuring both Eastern and Western spa techniques, guests can enjoy personalized full and half day specialty spa packages, body treatments, facials, oceanfront massage, chiropractic care and yoga.

Pool and Recreation
The Royal Kona Resort's swimming pool is dramatically set on a lava outcropping directly above the ocean – and is located next to Don's Mai Tai Bar for snacks and cool cocktails. The Resort also offers a private sandy sunning area and saltwater swimming lagoon - great for beginner snorkeling and for children. High tide also offers viewing of sea life.

Additionally, there is a tennis club and fitness center.
