Full Description
Cove Park is an interesting little park area with a small sandy beach. It's located right off of South Kihei Road where Iliili Road intersects it.

There is a small parking lot here with a few spots but chances are good that it won't be too crowded here and thus you should have no problems parking.

There is a very small grassy area with a BBQ and picnic table. There's even a small sandy beach area here and it's protected from the open ocean so it could be good for smaller kids.

The problem we have with Cove Park beach is that it just isn't all that great here, the water didn't seem very clear, and there is a huge storm drain located right here by the road so it can have issues from stormwater runoff. So avoid this place during a Brown Water Advisory for sure.

So why come here? Well, this is a popular spot for some beginner level surfing just offshore so it is good for that but otherwise not really much of a destination.

If you're coming here to do some beginner surfing then it's a good spot for that. Assuming it hasn't rained recently, the beach can be okay as well and sometimes a good spot for the keiki to splash around as well. For most, it's not really a great beach, especially with better beaches so close.

Although the beach area at Cove park is small and not much to brag about this is one of our favorite spots to stand up paddle. The water is very shallow and stays that way as you walk out so great for little kids. No worry of waves coming up and hitting them unexpectedly. Just off the side of the road so parking on the street gives you easy access to the beach making this a very short ways to pack in your gear. Off to the right, they have surf lessons so great place to watch those learning to surf. Arrive early as waters can get a little rough in the afternoon.

This is a small cove beside a beach park that's ideal for novice surfers. The beach itself isn't that nice but the surf offshore is great for long boarding with nice rides. It's not as crowded as the Kamaole beaches too.
