Sandless, rocky beach with less than ideal waters.
Features
Maliko Bay Beach isn't really a beach in the normal sense of a "sandy beach" that you may expect. It's rocky shoreline and the water is anything but inviting. Probably a neat place to stop and enjoy a view or take a photo but not really a place you'll want to come for a swim. Not that there are no facilities here.
The place is easier to reach than it would appear, simply take the access road on the mauka (mountain) side of the road when you reach the bay. This access road will go inland and then loop around and head right out to the bay and ocean.
You should be warned that there are various large signs on this access road that talk about the Hawaiian Nation that are pretty good at making non-locals feel very much out of place. While you are certainly legally allowed to be here, and we've never had any issues with the locals, make sure you're respectful of those who live here or who are just hanging out.
