The Ambassador Hotel Waikiki in Waikiki Beach is a good size (298 rooms) budget property but in addition to low room rates they also have larger than usual room sizes, at least for Waikiki. Their standard room is 470 sq ft, which is pretty big compared to many budget (and even many luxury boutique) rooms that may be closer to 300 sq ft.
They do offer a pool here and you will get some amenities in your room like a safe, mini fridge, and even free Internet (wired connection, not wifi), but don't expect too much beyond that here.
As for location, you are in Waikiki but this hotel is not on the beach. You are in line with Fort DeRussy Beach Park @ Waikiki but several blocks inland from it, less than a block away from the Ala Wai Canal. That means that getting to the beach requires walking a few blocks and getting to most restaurants and shops does as well.
