Tiki's Grill and Bar is located on the second floor of the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel right by the pool.
This is a very popular place and serves up a wide variety of foods for lunch and dinner. You'll find all sorts of seafood dishes, meat and chicken dishes, sandwiches, and so on. It's a casual restaurant that serves up food that's a bit more on the fancy side. The views of Kuhio Beach Park @ Waikiki are excellent from here as well.
We gave Tiki's a try for lunch and started with their Kalbi Beef Gyoza appetizer ($11). They describe it as crunchy dumplings filled with marinated, charred and minced beef tenderloin tips, grilled onions, and choi sum. It's then drizzled with miso chili and aioli and kabayaki sauce. I described it as delicious. The beef inside is super tender and the entire thing is incredibly good.
For main courses I tried the Korean tacos ($14). The tacos we really interesting and unlike any sort of taco I've ever had before. The meat is a very thinly sliced marinated beef ribeye that comes on a sizzling cast iron skillet (like fajitas). The marinade on it is perfect and the meat itself is very tender.
It also comes with tofu which seemed to have a sauce on it but really had no flavor to add to the tacos but didn't hurt the flavor either. I also enjoyed their kimchee which I normally am not a huge fan of, but it worked well with the other items on the tacos.
For dessert we tried their Maui Gold pineapple cheesecake on a recommendation from our server and it was a great recommendation. It was very tasty and not too rich and not too sweet.
So, we had a great view, great service, and great food. It was an excellent meal all around. It's not cheap but also didn't feel overpriced. It's touristy for sure, but it works here.
