The Bamboo Hotel at Waikiki has a pretty good location overall even though it isn't located right on Waikiki beach. It is lined up with Waikiki Beach (Main / Center) but is three blocks in from the beach. It's a super short walk and you're in the ocean.
The Aqua Bamboo Hotel itself is very nice and appears well maintained. This is a smaller hotel so it will lack some of the amenities of a larger property but is likely to be a bit more private and less crowded.
They do have a nice and private feeling pool area along with The Lovin Oven restaurant onsite.
