Ukumehame Beach Park is a long stretch of sand on the far southeast outskirts of Lahaina town. It's right off of and parallels the Honoapiilani Highway so you can pull off the road and park along the sand or head to the lot all the way at the far east end (see our map marker). Ukumehame Beach is also called Thousand Peaks for it's almost endless peaks that the surfers love.

The far east end is a bit of a train wreck. There is debris all over, it's not well maintained, has very little shade, there is broken glass on the ground, and the water down there just isn't inviting at all and is a bit murky.

This end of the beach really isn't anything special. It does have some cool, gnarly trees but overall feels like some sort of Mad Max style apocalyptic wasteland.

The west end of this long stretch of sand is much better in comparison but still just average overall. You'll see a lot of campers down at this end and the water is more inviting here but nothing spectacular. Swimming conditions are poor here due to a shallow and rocky ocean bottom.

No matter where you are here, you're pretty close to the main highway that connects west Maui to central Maui so there is a bit of road noise here as well. It's mostly used by local fishermen and campers.
