Hawaii's famous Leonard's Malasada is well known across this island. They serve only fresh products and it's made right in front of you. The traditional malasada, generously covered in granulated sugar, was my first malasada. The soft, warm, melt in your mouth Portuguese doughnut is a winner!

Leonard's also has custard, chocolate, haupia, and other fillings to compliment the already delicious pastry treat. If you have a potluck or are bringing something to contribute, say thank you, or just because then I'd recommend Leonard's Malasadas. There's nothing like a dozen box of mixed fresh Leonard's Malasadas on a Sunday morning. It's the surprise that's fun. I hope you get some soon. Mahalo.

A local recommended Leonard's Bakery to me and I was so glad I made the effort to find it. The coconut filled malasadas were incredibly delicious, especially served hot. The choice is so extensive, choosing is a bit of a challenge. You can smell the tempting aroma from outside. They also sell a range of other baked goods, but the it's the donuts that bring people from all over Oahu! Come hungry!

Amazingly efficient run family business, always brimming with customers. For all you Aussies out there, Malasadas are freshly made to order doughnuts, just don't call them doughnuts. A variety of other pastries are available. Parking is limited but buses travelling down Kapahulu Ave drop you virtually at the door....only minutes from Waikiki but oh so worth it....bring plenty of napkins.

We fell in love with Leonard's Bakery just thinking about their malasada is making me drool. I wish we could get them mailed to us. The smell before you get inside takes you to a heavenly place. We saved a few to eat on our trip home on the plane. Best malasada I ever ate.

You walk towards Leonard's Bakery and you can't stop your mouth from watering. Although the classic malasada is amazing make sure to try one of their amazing cream filled decadent malasadas. Grab a dozen for yourself and make sure to pick up some for your friends because these are way too hard to share!

Everything is good here, but the Malasadas can't be beat. They even have a truck selling them at various places in Oahu, and no matter where you get them, they are hot out of the fryer. Li Hing is my favorite, and the wife loves the powered sugar and cinnamon and sugar. They also come filled.

If you're going to have a malasada while on Oahu it should definitely be Leonards. It's like the Krispy Kreme of malasadas. A lot of variety, from plain to filled. The cinnamon sugar plain and haupia filled are awesome. It does get busy and parking is limited but manageable.
