Hana Beach Park and Hana Bay is a good place to launch a boat or canoe and the park area is pretty nice and well maintained. It's clearly popular with the locals as well.
There are some grassy areas, plenty of picnic tables (some under a covered hut), and it has an overall good vibe. You could imagine spending a lot of time here on weekends if you lived in the sleepy town of Hana.
The problem is that the water here just isn't very inviting. The sand here is sort of a brown, red, and black mix and the beach is a bit rocky in spots. It's just not a beach where you'd really want to set up shop for a day unless you were taking a canoe or boat out.
