This preserve is located on the west side of Lana'i, just before you reach the Garden of the Gods / Keahiakawelo. You'll need a 4x4 vehicle to get here since there is some dirt trail off-roading to be done but it's not too bad.
This forest is protected by The Nature Conservancy and contains the largest remnants of olopua/lama dry land forest in Hawaii.
You'll find self-guiding maps at the forest entry, plan about 30 minutes to see the sites here. Illustrated signs along the way will educate you on this rare ecosystem.
