This is the place King Kamehameha's warriors would prove their bravery by jumping from the cliffs into the ocean. You shouldn't show your bravery here, because you'll likely die, so stick to jumping in the hotel pool instead.
Kahekili's Leap is located at Kaunolu Village on the southern tip of Lana'i and basically right next to Halulu Heiau so you'll want to see that while you are out this way. Remember, this area a very sacred place, so please be respectful.
From Lanai City you will take Highway 440 west toward Kaumalapau Harbor. Once past the airport turnoff, turn left onto (unmarked trail) Kaupili Road. After about 2.5 miles (4 km) you'll see a yellow water pipe on the right, turn right here.
This road goes downhill and leads to Kaunolu and Halulu Heiau after about 3 miles (4.8 km). Your rental car company may not allow you to drive some (if any) of these trails so check with them first and park and hike in if needed.
