Cute restaurant on the North Shore. If you want to experience a local place, this is a pretty good spot. The food is nothing great, but the atmosphere is pretty cool. And the bartenders are great. It's a great place to watch football early Sunday mornings. And one of the only places to hang out "late night" on the North Shore.

This is one of our favorite places to go for a quick breakfast on the North Shore. We tend to get there right before they open, and so it's not busy and we are quickly served. The portions are plentiful and their breakfasts are reasonably priced. We enjoy sitting outside and watching the wild chickens run around.

We also enjoy coming here for dinner and drinks. They have karaoke every Tuesday night. Every year we've been, I always say, "I'm doing karaoke this time!" but to date, I have not. I've never done karaoke and it's on my bucket list. Perhaps this trip coming up in May will be my time to shine!

You can eat inside or out, though the views of the parking lot or cars driving down the street isn't exactly appealing. Then again, the inside is falling apart and the word "clean" doesn't exactly come to mind so maybe car exhaust isn't so bad. Okay, it's not horrible but feels like the owners stopped trying a long time ago here. Repairs need to made, tables and chairs should be replaced, and the decor needs a major face-lift. It's as if the place is trying to be a hole in the wall surfer's bar without actually being one. It just doesn't work.

Then again, this is the north shore and it's flooded with countless tourists every single day and there aren't tons of restaurant options here so you don't really need to try all that hard to stay in business.

Let's get down to what really matters, the food. We came here around 11:00 am hoping that we could get lunch as every restaurant anywhere else would open and serve lunch at 11am. That's not the case here as on weekends they don't start serving lunch until 11:30 am and, even then, we're told that they won't really serve it until 11:45 am. I'm not sure what happens between 11:30 am and 11:45 am but I guess you sit and wait. So, we ended up being stuck with the breakfast menu.

Sodas will run you around $3 each which is a little pricey but the food items seem to be fairly priced. We ordered a Mickey pancake (yes, like the mouse) for $6 and it was enough to feed two kids with plenty left over. A side of hash browns cost $3.50 and it was almost a meal by itself. A side of bacon was $3.50 as well. On the kid front, things went over very well but put chocolate, whipped cream, or syrup on anything and kids are happy. Put all three on a pancake and they're living like kings.

The Country Breakfast was biscuits and gravy, eggs, and bacon. Overall it wasn't bad and the gravy tasted good but the biscuits were really dry, tasteless, and kind of hard. Probably not worth the $13.00.

The French toast on Hawaiian sweet bread was good, but only slightly better than your average everyday French toast. For $7.00 you get two pieces which might not be enough if you are really hungry. I'm not complaining on this, just making an observation here.

No complaints on the service, but really just average and a little slow on drink refills. Overall it's just average food in a less than average space. I'd have no objection to eating here again. At the same time, I'm not exactly planning my next visit here.

I was not really impressed with our visit here. The tables that we were sat at we uneven, wobbly, and sticky.

I ordered the biscuits and gravy which came with bacon and eggs. The biscuits were so hard and dry even though they were covered in gravy. The gravy had good flavor. The eggs were flavorless. Service was okay, but not great. I would give this place another try if I knew that it would be better.

No doubt that this place is a bit run down at first glance but it's part of the ambiance. The fish and chips are very good here and we were able to walk right in and get seated quickly. Service wasn't speedy but not slow.
