Kumimi Beach Park is locally known as Murphy's Beach, George Murphy Beach Park, or even just Murphy Beach. It's also sometimes called Twenty Mile Beach or Mile Marker 20 Beach but so is Waialua Beach Park.
Confused yet? Whatever you call it, it's a fun beach to visit and worth a stop. When the ocean is calm, the water here can be quite clear and can be a good place to swim (though there are no lifeguards here). The water is fairly shallow and the bottom is a bit rocky in spots but it can be a good place to snorkel as well, if things are calm.
Regardless, it's best to stay inside the reef area as currents can be dangerous outside of the reef.
Looking for some great vacation photos? Two miles beyond Murphy's Beach down the one lane road is a lookout with a small parking lot that is great for pictures.
