Halawa Beach Park offers two beaches in one spot at Hawala Bay near the northeast tip of Molokai.

The northern beach, known as Kama'alaea Beach, is fairly well protected from the open ocean. It's a beautiful beach with a perfect crescent shape to it. On calm days it can be a good place to swim but remember that there are no lifeguards around here so caution is needed, especially as rip currents can form here during heavy surf. The bigger issue is that the Halawa Stream flows into the ocean right here so the water isn't clear enough for snorkeling.

The beach on the southern side of the bay is Kawili Beach which isn't as protected from the open ocean. If the waves are strong you can expect very strong currents here so it's best to stay out of the water then.

Take Highway 450 (Kamehameha Highway) to its east end, cross the bridge, follow the rough road trail until you reach the gravel parking area. Bring plenty of water to drink, there are no faucets or showers here.
