Matt Anderson's Take
Three Tables Beach is a beach on the north shore of O'ahu, in the Haleiwa area, that you wouldn't go near in the winter because of the high surf. Inn the summertime, and when the ocean is calm, it's a near perfect beach and can be a great place to snorkel.

Getting here is easy (see our map/directions page), though the parking situation is a little rough as it only has a small dirt pull off on the side of the Kamehameha Highway. During the week and earlier in the day are your best bets for finding spots to park.

The sandy beach area is a decent size and the best spots for playing in the water will be to your left once you hit the sand and face the ocean (south side). The water is a really nice shade of blue over on the left side and it's a great place to play.

You'll find good snorkeling around the tables but watch for rip currents here and stay out when the ocean is angry. If you're not a strong swimmer and you get in trouble you'll be on your own out here as there are no lifeguards at Three Tables Beach.

As long as things are calm and you're a good swimmer and snorkeler then this a great beach to snorkel at. If conditions aren't great, just stay out.

Make sure you go snorkelling at Three Tables Beach! It's the best crystal clear blue water and the best sea life to look at. Water is nice and calm and we enjoyed our time here. We got some great shots so make sure you get an underwater camera to take shots of your snorkelling experience.
Great beach, make sure you head down and check it out!

Had another amazing snorkeling experience here. The ocean was calm so everything was just perfect. We saw so much sea life that we didn't want to leave. Have to remember this one for my next trip!

My wife and I found ourselves at Three Tables after SCUBA diving at Shark's Cove and snorkeling at Hanauma Bay. She and I both agree that Three Tables was the best snorkeling spot. It provided clear, calm water and the largest variety of fish. We went on a Thursday around 11:00 in June and it was not crowded. As we got ready to leave, about 2:00, it had gotten very busy with traffic and parking was non-existent. We had a great time with an occasional small wave coming in and the fish near the tables were plentiful. Since it is not far from Giovanni's Shrimp Truck, we went there for a late lunch. Three Tables is number for us when it comes to snorkeling.

Three tables is the alternative to snorkeling at nearby Pupukea Beach Park / Shark's Cove Beach. Instead of a shallow jagged reef for snorkeling, Three tables is great for playing in the waves during the summer months. During the winter months during a swell, it can be equally fun to watch the powerful waves crashing off of the "three tables" or reefs just off shore. There are a lot of families and sunbathers when the waves aren't pumping. There is a backdrop of trees which makes it feel a bit secluded, but definitely not secret. It's a pretty beach, not good for surfing, but a nice North Shore beach with close access to North Shore Tacos Truck, Kau Kau Bbq Truck, and other food trucks on the other side of the road.

This is a favorite snorkeling beach for our family during the summer and never seems all that crowded.
